Juli 2023 – Henrik received a CrystEngComm Poster Prize at the 23rd International Symposium on Fluorine Chemistry (July 23-28, 2023, Québec City) for his poster entitled “With Fluorine to Methanol Catalysts for Sustainable CO2-Hydrogenation”! Congratulations Henrik!

April 2023 – Lukas received a poster price at the Syngas Convention 4 in Cape Town for presenting his work on the fluorination of methanol catalysts. Very exciting and new in-situ pXRD results obtained in cooperation with Prof. Dr. Nico Fischer at the University of Cape Town! Congratulations Lukas!

September 2022 – Believe it or not, there may be too much fluorine within a WCA. We show that the perfluorinated alkoxyaluminate accepts an electron upon Mg-deposition, forms MgF₂ and inhibits further Mg-deposition effectively. See why: Link. See our News Entry.

22.11.2021 - Antoine got his paper on “Ga⁺-Catalyzed Hydrosilylation? About the Surprising System Ga⁺/ HSiR₃/ Olefin, Proof of Oxidation with Subvalent Ga⁺ and Silylium Catalysis with the Perfluoroalkoxyaluminate Anion.” in Chem. Sci. 2021 accepted. Link: https://doi.org/10.1039/D1SC05331K

Ga⁺ initiates the hydro-silylation of olefinic double bonds with HSiR₃. Surprising-ly, subvalent Ga⁺ oxidizes silanes to silylium ions, the true catalysts of this reaction.

Oxidative fluorination of a Cu/ZnO catalyst system increased the defect/copper ratio on the surface of the resulting Cu/ZnO/ZnF₂ system.
